The Millennial Mastermind Podcast

If you are an entrepreneurial millennial looking for tools, tactics, and inspiration to take your business and your life to the next level, this is the show for you. Brad Mulvey created this podcast as a student of life, looking to build a foundation of knowledge that would support the dreams of his audience and himself. In Napoleon Hill’s timeless classic Think and Grow Rich, he defines a mastermind group as, "the Coordination of knowledge and effort between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose." In this podcast, that coordination is created between you, our amazing guests, and Brad. Our definite purpose is achieving extraordinary results in your business and in your life. Welcome to the Millennial Mastermind. Following mentorship from trailblazers like Tim Ferris, Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Grant Cardone, John Lee Dumas, Pat Flynn, Gary Vaynerchuk, Lewis Howes, Simon Sinek, Geoff Woods, and more!

In this episode of the Millennial Mastermind Podcast I have the distinct pleasure of connecting with author, speaker and all around great guy, Bob Burg.  Bob is the author of a number of books on sales, marketing and influence, with total book sales of well over a million copies. His book, The Go-Giver, coauthored with John David Mann has sold over half a million copies and it has been translated into 21 languages.

In today's conversation with Bob, we cover:
  • Building a system to achieve predictable success
  • The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success
  • How to build a mentor relationship
  • How to make a LOT of money in life
  • The difference between a salesperson vs con artist

The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success:
  1. The Law of Value: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
  2. The Law of Compensation: Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.
  3. The Law of Influence: Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.
  4. The Law of Authenticity: The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.
  5. The Law of Receptivity: The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

This week I'm joined by Ryan Florio, the president, founder and TeaEO of Inca Tea (see what he did there?).  When you talk about finding your passion and following your dreams, Ryan serves as an inspirational example.  With 20 years of experience in a variety of professions, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to tech startups, he has been through the career gambit.  But all of that experience led up to the point where he discovered his true passion, 3,500 miles from home, while hiking the Inca Trail in Peru.

Listen now to hear how Ryan turned his dream into a reality.  We also discuss the importance of being true to yourself, accepting that you can't make everyone happy (and shouldn't), why you should never give up and much more.

In this episode of the Millennial Mastermind Podcast I am joined by Andy Halko, the owner and founder of strategic marketing agency, Insivia.  Throughout his career, Andy has successfully navigated the challenges involved with being a young business leader.  A few of the topics we cover include:

  • Working with clients and employees with more experience than yourself
  • Actual truth vs. perception of one's self
  • Attitude and perception are everything
  • Sometimes, the best results come from conflict
  • Confidentiality in a mastermind group
  • Life is your own journey, not that of those around you
  • This conversation really hit home for me, and I hope it does for you as well.

My Favorite Quotes:

"Every single person in the world knows something that you don't know, so you're always a student." -Andy Halko

"Your attitude in how you face anything is 99% of the battle." -Andy Halko

"Attitude can define everything in your life." -Andy Halko

"The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has actually taken place." -George Bernard Shaw

No matter what your industry, job title or career stage, you're a salesperson.  You could be selling product to a client, selling your boss on paying you more or selling your kids on why they need to eat their vegetables.  All of us are selling every day.  Heck, my girlfriend just sold me on a new coffee table without me even realizing it.

That's why when Jedi Master Salesman Gene McNaughton talks... I listen.  Gene gives some powerful advice in this episode, including the 5 steps to get anything you want in life.

Apologies in advance for the less-than-stellar sound quality.  I'm still trying to figure out this whole "microphone" thing.  But nonetheless, it's a great episode!

Enjoy!
